Distopic locations in Gil Scott-Heron- "Me And The Devil"




I just uploaded this video as i like lots of the locations used as an inspiration to our thriller. Alothough this is a music video and not a thriler it uses many images of generic conventions such as distopic urban locations, criminal activity, the american flag(ironic linking to how tarantino ironicly represents american in his films.)

    To strengthen in a further post you could add a title : How Scott-Heron utilises thriller genre conventions in the Music Video, "Me and the Devil".

    Cultural signifiers - purpose

    Explain why thriller signifiers and what the poet is saying about the USA.
