Possible music for our thriller
This song i think would be perfect for our thriller to be used in the sound bridge of diegetic sound from Shosannas headphones beginning in credits and fading out as she gets home inside and takes off her headphones to inspect the package. (silence therefore adding to the final suspense.) we have been told in class that the soundtrack can not be american, copyrighted or have lyrics in however i am suggesting this as the lyrics reflect Shosanna's persona and fits with Goodwin's theory. In the case that we can't use it due to copy right or because its american? I am considering getting some friends together and recording a cover of it which we could make even more fitting to the feel/tone of our thriller.

A great track Jake but not appropriate because of the cultural significance of the track. If your thriller was located in the southern states of the USA, i.e. New Orleans then it would be a possibility. Also the lyrics are a distraction. Note that in The Third Man the soundtrack is played on a Viennese instrument thus reflecting the cultural aspect of location and plot. Also there are no lyrics in this soundtrack.
ReplyDeleteWell done for experimenting and researching this important aspect of mise-en-scene but try unsigned band websites for example:
